Education and Post-Graduate Training

Dr. Robert Augsburger, MS, DDS, MSD is a native of San Francisco, California. He graduated from the University of California School of Dentistry, and holds Masters degrees in both Physiology and Oral Biology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, and a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Augsburger maintained an active private practice that was recognized as one of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced in the nation. He has written numerous articles that have appeared in the literature. His research background includes work in physiology, an NIH Research Fellowship, and ongoing clinical research.

Dr. Augsburger is involved in organized dentistry, is a past Director of the American Association of Endodontists, and holds committee positions at the state and national levels in both basic science and clinical areas. For three years Dr. Augsburger worked with the U.S. Congress to develop health care policy that favors dental health and dentistry. The Surgeon General presented Dr. Augsburger with his highest professional award, for national and international recognition in endodontics. He was recently recognized by the American Association of Endodontists for his leadership and dedicated service to organized dentistry, and by the Alumni Association of the Student Clinicians of the American Dental Association for his career contributions and achievements. He was further recognized by selection for Who’s Who in Dentistry, and as a Top Dentist in America.

Dr. Augsburger has been a frequent lecturer at universities and at local, state, national and international meetings. He is a member of the Council of Healthcare Advisors for a group of more than two hundred top institutional asset managers, and he serves as a Consultant to several companies in the dental industry. For the past eighteen years he has served on the Scientific Advisory Panel for the Journal of Endodontics. Dr. Augsburger has held faculty positions at several universities and is currently on the faculty of Texas A&M University College of Dentistry.
