TMD IMPACT Symposium
September 19-20, 2026 | Dallas, TexasThe NIDCR U54 "TMD IMPACT" (Collaborative for Improving Patient-Centered Translational Research) initiative establishes interdisciplinary, patient-centered centers to translate basic TMD research into evidence-based treatments and better clinical care. The collaborative bridges the gap between scientific discovery and patient impact by establishing standardized, whole-person clinical registries and training networks.

September 19-20, 2026 | Dallas, TexasThe 11th International TMJ Interdisciplinary Research Meeting (ITIRM) is a premier scientific symposium that unites global bioengineers, clinicians, and researchers to advance the study of temporomandibular joint disorders. This program will provide a unique opportunity for bioengineers, clinicians and scientists to discuss the challenges presented by temporomandibular joint disorders, and to devise strategies to address those challenges.

Research Interests
The Department of Biomedical Sciences, led by Dr. John K. Neubert, is a major locus for basic science and translational research at Texas A&M College of Dentistry. Research interests include regulation of feeding behavior, the role of dendritic cells in cancer, the genetics of caries-causing bacteria, the genetics of tooth development, developmental biology of corneal epithelium, sutures, palate, and temporomandibular joint, mechanics of bone, and analysis of craniofacial growth in mutant and transgenic animal models.
Graduate Programs
Our mission is to educate MS and PhD graduate students to become competent researchers and educators who are committed to conducting research related to neuroscience and pain, craniofacial development, diseases and treatments including the development and application of biomaterials, devices and biologics in treating craniofacial diseases.
