Biography

Dr. Deborah Foyle is a Clinical Professor and has been the Associate Dean for Student Affairs since 2026. Prior to that, she was the Director of Predoctoral Periodontics from 2015-2026 and served as the interim Head of the Department of Periodontics from 2022-2026 and the interim Head of the Department of Endodontics from 2022-2025. She received her dental degree in 1982 from Trinity College Dublin, in Ireland. In 1991, she received her Master of Science in Periodontology from the Royal London Hospital Medical College, University of London and her certificate in Periodontics and Master of Science in Oral Biology from the Texas A & M University in 2005. Dr. Foyle has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 2006.

In addition to teaching at The Royal London Hospital Medical College, the Eastman Dental Hospital, London and Texas A&M Dentistry, she has worked in private periodontal practice both in London, England and Dallas, Texas and has participated in several clinical and scientific trials over the years, collaborated as an author on 17 peer-reviewed articles, as primary author on 2 and served on 8 MS thesis committees, chairing 2 of them. She continues to teach predoctoral and postdoctoral courses in periodontology and serves or has served on several key committees at Texas A&M Dentistry, including the CODA steering committee, the strategic planning committee and the Admissions committee. In 2025 she became a certified mediator.
