Biography
Dr. Amerian D. Sones received her BS in Biochemistry from University of the Pacific, Stockton, CA in 1976, MS from UCLA, School of Dentistry, and her DMD from Tufts, School of Dental Medicine 1979.
Dr. Sones joined the Texas A&M University, College of Dentistry in 2012 and served as an assistant professor in the Department of General Dentistry where she is Director of Continuing Education and served as Assistant Director, Advanced Education General Dentistry, 2013-2018.
She has developed numerous innovative programs for the dental advanced education completing the American Dental Association Accreditation requirements.
She has provided clinical instruction to undergraduate students, postgraduate general dentistry residents, and postgraduate prosthodontic residents while conducting clinical protocols requiring IRB approval and training on dental implants.
Her research on osteoporosis and dental implant technology resulted in service as a reviewer for the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants and to serve on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Osseointegration.
She has served on numerous university committees such as the admissions and faculty development committees as well as other professional organizations such as the Pacific Coast Society Prosthodontics.
Her research now collaborates with other faculty at multiple universities, engaging digital technology in clinical dentistry.
