Research in the department spans the spectrum from laboratory, translational to clinical research.
Research projects are an integral part of the Graduate Prosthodontic program as residents pursue a Master of Science in Dentistry degree. During the past fifteen years, eleven grants totaling over $469,000 have been obtained yielding twenty-five refereed publications and thirteen abstracts. Areas of emphasis include implant supported removable prosthodontics, dental implants, dental ceramics, dental castings restoration of non-vital teeth, CADCAM and applications of restorative materials in dentistry.
