Biography
Education and Post-Graduate Training
Thao C. Kim currently serves as Clinical Faculty in the Dental Hygiene Program at the Texas
A&M College of Dentistry.
Professor Kim received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Baylor University, and
Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Texas School of Dentistry
(summa cum laude).
She has more than 10 years of experience in clinical practice as a registered dental hygienist in
private practice dentistry. Her areas of interest include patient management, disease prevention,
interprofessional collaboration, and she is committed to contributing to the dental hygiene
profession through education and future research.
Professor Kim is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association, Texas
Dental Hygienists’ Association, Dallas Dental Hygienists’ Association, Association for Dental
Safety, Dental Hygiene Educators of Texas, and Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor
Society-Beta Chapter.
She currently serves as clinical faculty in Preclinical Dental Hygiene, and Clinical Dental
Hygiene courses I-IV.
