The Bridge to Dentistry program, a key initiative of the college’s Center of Excellence, offers a broad range of academic enrichment activities and programs for students from pre-K through college. These efforts are designed to raise awareness of dental professions and enhance students' readiness and competitiveness for dental school admission.
As part of the college’s pipeline program, Bridge to Dentistry plays a vital role in making health care education more accessible to students from underserved communities, recognizing that dentists from these communities are more likely to return and provide care for underserved populations.
The program includes several targeted initiatives aimed at exposing and recruiting students from urban and rural areas to dentistry as a career, such as:
Project Dental Awareness for elementary school children,
Future Dentists Club for students in grades 4–12,
Summer Pre-Dental Enrichment Programs for high school and college students, and
The Post-Baccalaureate Program for college graduates.
