Biography
Education and Post-Graduate Training
Ariana Vargas is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dental Hygiene Program at the Texas
A&M College of Dentistry.
Ms. Vargas received her Associates of Sciences from Eastfield College, a Bachelor of Science in
Dental Hygiene from Texas A&M University Health Science Center, and a Master of Public
Health with a concentration in Leadership from the University of North Texas Health Science
Center.
She has over 7 years of experience in general and cosmetic dentistry. Her expertise includes
educating others about cultural competency, promoting good oral hygiene practices, preventing
dental diseases, and ensuring access to dental care for communities. Areas of interest include
mentorship, leadership development, refining dental hygiene students’ clinical skills, and
advocating for inclusion and equality.
Mrs. Vargas is currently course director for Public & Community Health and serves as co-course
director for Research Methods and Applied Research Methods. Additional teaching
responsibilities are clinical teaching in Preclinical Dental Hygiene, and Clinical Dental Hygiene
courses I-IV.
