Fabricio B. Teixeira DDS, MS, PhD

Biography

Dr. Fabricio B. Teixeira is Professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics at the Texas A&M University, College of Dentistry, Dallas, TX. He was recruited from the University of Iowa and during his tenure of 11 years at Iowa, he held the esteemed positions of the Richard Walton Endowed Professor and Chair of the Department of Endodontics. Additionally, he served as the Director of the Advanced Education Program for over four years and still maintains an appointment as an adjunct faculty. Dr. Teixeira holds a Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He served as the Program Director at the same institution after completing his program and was the inaugural recipient of the Endowment Carlos E. del Rio Distinguished Professorship in Endodontics. Prior to his move to Texas, he held the position of Tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he continues to serve as an adjunct faculty member. Dr. Teixeira’s academic journey began with his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in the Department of Endodontics at the State University of Campinas (Fop-Unicamp) in Brazil, where he also served as an Associate Professor.

Dr. Teixeira is Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (ABE) and continues to serve the ABE as past director. He has also held various positions within the American Association of Endodontists, including organizing the Annual meetings tracks and serving as a committee member in numerous areas. He is the Secretary of the International Association of Dental Traumatology and a member of its Board of Directors. Additionally, he holds the position of CODA Commissioner and currently chairs the Endodontic Review Committee. Dr. Teixeira is also a member of the OKU National Dental Honor Society, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. Over nine years, he served as Associate Editor of Endodontic Topics and is a member of the Editorial Board of Evidence-based Endodontics and Visual Endodontics. He also holds a position on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Journal of Endodontics and serves as a consultant for several other peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Teixeira actively participates in clinical research and has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics in his specialty. His publications include multiple peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and textbook chapters in essential textbooks such as “Pathways of the Pulp” and “Endodontics: Principles and Practice.”
