OMS Externship Online Application

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externship - Application

Texas A&M School of Dentistry offers oral and maxillofacial surgery externships year around to qualified third and fourth year dental students from ADA accredited schools. Our OMS externship offers dental students a chance to gain experience in performing dentoalveolar surgery; observing major craniofacial and head and neck surgery procedures; making rounds with residents; attending hospital and departmental meetings, and standing emergency room call with OMS residents.

Externs generally acknowledge acquiring considerable knowledge while attending the various meetings and conferences at both the school/clinic and at Baylor University Medical Center. To maximize student experience and involvement, our program has a maximum of two externs at any one time. All students are required to submit an application with supporting documents and pass a background check 30 days prior to the externship. We regret we are unable to provide housing.

For more information on the program see the Externships FAQ, or send an email to the Program Coordinator.
