OMS Predoctoral Program

The OMS Predoctoral curriculum Texas A&M College of Dentistry is one of the top-rated curriculums in the nation, based on several measurement tools.

The program is known not only for its innovative approach to teaching but for the wealth of clinical experience afforded to each dental student at the College. Faculty in this program are serving as leaders in developing competency measurement tools for students in the area of local anesthesia, pain and anxiety control, dentoalveolar surgery and management of medical emergencies during dental treatment.

Graduating dental students over the past decade have completed an average of 128 surgical procedures (minimum: 100), 8 pre-prosthetic procedures (minimum: 6) and 6 inhalation sedation cases managed (minimum: 5). This level of clinical experience is highly unique, making our graduates highly sought after for graduate training. They also gain extensive practical patient management experience in our walk-in emergency clinic with patients who have infections, dental pain, and other acute conditions.
