Biography
Dr. Mohamed Adel is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. A dedicated researcher and clinician, Dr. Adel is committed to advancing orthodontics through research, education, and clinical excellence.
Dr. Adel earned his dental degree and completed his orthodontic residency at Suez Canal University in Egypt, where he subsequently joined the faculty. He pursued his Ph.D. in craniofacial genetics through a joint supervision program between Showa University in Japan and Suez Canal University, during which he gained advanced clinical experience in Japan. After moving to the United States, Dr. Adel joined the Craniofacial Genetics Lab at the University of Kentucky as a postdoctoral researcher, further honing his expertise. He later completed a Master of Science and Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Kentucky and he is currently an ABO board certified orthodontist
Dr. Adel’s research interests include craniofacial genetics, growth and development, orthognathic surgery, and the application of artificial intelligence in orthodontics. He is passionate about integrating cutting-edge research into clinical practice and exploring innovative solutions to improve patient care.
Outside of work, Dr. Adel enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He also enjoys watching and playing soccer, traveling, and scuba diving.

- 1st place in 2024 Dr. William R. Proffit Resident Scholar Award. Research title: "Precision Assessment of Facial Asymmetry Using 3D Imaging and Artificial Intelligence"
