The pediatric dentistry departmental faculty is involved in clinical and basic science research.

  • Clinical research interests include behavior management, sedation, clinical therapeutics and pulp therapy
  • Basic science research focus includes temporomandibular joint inflammation/pain, pulp therapy, and saliva sampling
  • Educational research is another focus of the department and centers around the adult educational teaching model and testing with the use of the objective structured clinical exam (OSCE)
  • Other research interests include: access to care and curriculum development

Each resident seeking a Master’s degree has a pediatric dentistry faculty on his/her committee. The department strives to have each study submitted for publication.
