Biography
Dr. Xiaoru Dong is a Research Assistant Professor with a joint appointment in the Department of Public Health Sciences and the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. She earned her Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Florida. Her research focuses on developing statistical methods and computational tools to analyze complex datasets, particularly single cell and genomic data, with the goal of improving the interpretability of data generated by high-throughput sequencing technologies.
In addition to her methodological research, Dr. Dong works closely with collaborators across disciplines to address complex challenges in public health and biomedical science. She has led the development of reproducible analytical pipelines and managed large-scale datasets in projects examining human health, disease mechanisms, and population-level outcomes. These collaborative efforts with clinicians and biologists have contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications.
